Asia/Europe Schedule Reliability Issues

Ocean freight carriers providing services from Asia to Europe are currently experiencing extended delays to their advertised schedules.

Right now, services are more unreliable than at any other time during the pandemic.

In China, port congestion and sporadic Covid lockdowns are impacting most ports, leading to vessel departures often being delayed by a week or two.

Then upon arrival at European base ports, congestion is  hampering feeder operations. Since many services are now omitting direct UK port calls, this is severely impacting overall transit times.

Antwerp is one of  the most frequently used European  ports for feeder operations, which is currently experiencing delays of up to four weeks.

Meanwhile,  many local companies suspended production in China’s eastern Zhejiang province yesterday, in response to local outbreaks of Covid.

As ever, Atlantic Pacific continue to work diligently to mitigate supply chain disruption during these extremely difficult times. Should you require further information on the above, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
