Atlantic Pacific And The Cold Chain Penguin Delivery

Members of the Atlantic Pacific team were out collecting and delivering penguin statues yesterday, ahead of this summer’s ‘Waddle-On-Sea’ event.

Yes, we are at it again, proud sponsors and logistics partners of the fantastic upcoming public art trail coming to Southend-On-Sea this summer.

Following on from ‘Hares About Town’ in 2021 and ‘Herd In The City’ two years ago, this summer’s big event is focused around penguins and it’s going to be brrrrriliant!

However, these penguins don’t move themselves and needed a little help heading off to the trail’s logistics centre, where they will be mounted and stored ahead of the summer.

Not a product we are used to moving when making our usual cold-chain deliveries.

 

 

Yesterday’s journey saw us making collections from some of the wonderful artists, that have individually designed and painted each penguin, in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex.

At this moment in time, the penguins weigh around 50kgs each, but will weigh considerably more once they have been mounted.

We still have a few more penguins to collect and deliver and then we will have one final push, the night before the event starts, when we will be delivering the penguins to their positions on the trail.
