Atlantic Pacific Join BIFA Sustainable Logistics Policy Group

Atlantic Pacific Group Chairman Ashley Nichols, and Company Secretary Jackie Hutchinson, attended the first BIFA Sustainable Logistics Policy Group meeting in London this month.

BIFA has been delivering advice to its corporate members on environmental issues for some time, but since the environmental agenda within freight and logistics has developed they felt it was essential to establish the policy group.

The purpose is to identify and report to the association and its members on environmental-related issues which may have a current or future impact upon UK freight businesses.

Sustainability is high on Atlantic Pacific Group’s agenda and a subject that we have held a long term passion for. This is demonstrated through holding an ISO14001 in Environmental Management for the past 15 years, and by collecting BIFA Awards in Environmental and Sustainability categories on three occasions.

Following the first meeting, Ashley commented “Environmental and Sustainability issues are key to our business and we are proud to have been invited to contribute our expertise in this area to BIFA’s Policy Group. We look forward to enjoying working with all involved in the future”.
