Bangladesh Latest To Enter Full Lockdown

Following the latest global wave of coronavirus, Bangladesh is the latest Asian country to order a full lockdown, which has been declared until 5 August.

With most factories ordered to shut down, export orders will undoubtedly be affected, adding further to supply chain delays for products sourced in Asia.

Restrictions came into effect from 8am Friday, following a rapid rise in cases of the devastating Delta variant of Covid-19.

During the current lockdown; public transit by road, rail and river is suspended, as is domestic air travel.  All stores, markets, tourist venues, resorts, community centers and entertainment centers are closed.

All factories are closed, with the exception of some sectors related to food, drugs and personal protective equipment, which are able to operate.

The public cannot leave their homes except in the case of emergencies, such as purchasing medicine and other necessities, with legal action to be taken against those who violate restrictions.

As ever, Atlantic Pacific continue to work diligently to mitigate supply chain disruption during these extremely difficult times. Should you require further information on the above, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
