Canada West Coast Port Strike
A port strike on the West Coast of Canada has now reached its fourth day, after workers stuck to their word and walked out on Saturday.
Right now, there is little sign of a resolution in sight, with more than 150 ships caught up in the dispute at Vancouver, and a further 60 in the Port of Prince Rupert.
A recent ballot of ILWU Canadian port workers, that have not had a contract since their previous terms ran out in March, resulted in an overwhelming 99% vote in favour of strike action.
Both parties had been negotiating over the weekend before talks broke down on Monday.
With port operations currently halted, transit times from Asia, along with local fulfilment and delivery times, are now being affected, and will continue to be for the duration of the strike and perhaps beyond.
