Chrissy’s Last Luncheon As Lady Chairman
Wednesday was an emotional day for Atlantic Pacific Group Director – Christine Nichols – as it was her last luncheon as Lady Chairman of the London Freight Club (LFC).
Chrissy took up the role earlier this year and became the first ever female chairman in the club’s 70 year history. She has enjoyed a wonderful year championing the industry’s females and young people nationally and internationally, while also hosting some fantastic events at the LFC itself.
Chrissy commented:
“Wednesday was a very emotional day for me as it was my last day as Lady Chairman of the London Freight Club. It’s been a great year and I feel proud and privileged to have been the ‘First’ Lady Chairman in 70 years. I have used this platform to encourage, empower and support other females and young people in our industry and have found myself doing motivational talks both nationally and internationally thanks to the role of being the ‘First’ Lady Chairman.”
“I was totally overwhelmed and speechless by the standing ovation at the end of our lunch on Wednesday and want to thank everyone for their support throughout the year.”
“During my tenure as Lady Chairman, the club was able to break many records with the fantastic support of our members. We were privileged to have 63 new members join the club between February and December, a record for the club and between now and February we hope to get these numbers up to nearer 70. Amongst the new members that joined the club 23 have been women, but come on ladies we need a few more, so if you’ve not applied to join yet, please do so.
“We also achieved the most attendees at every lunch, which meant we were able to book the grand ballroom for every event and Wednesdays lunch, with nearly 600 members and guests, was the largest number of attendees ever. We’ve raised over £12,500 for our chosen charities up to November, hopefully after the December lunch we’ve pushed this number up to £15,000. Also, as a final record, Ashley and I are the first husband and wife team to both enjoy the privilege of being Chairman of the London Freight Club.”
“Here are a few photos from the day and evening. If any of you have photos please send them to me so I can add them.”
“Nothing else to say, but to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy 2024.”
