Congestion Now Impacting Yantian Port

Yantian is the latest port to suffer issues with congestion, which is currently leading to major difficulties getting containers on quay.

It is unclear at this stage whether any additional Covid measures have been introduced, but today we have been witnessing massive queues of vehicles approaching the port.

Parts of nearby Shenzhen went into lockdown last week and delays have been experienced in collecting and delivering containers through Shenzhen terminals, it is possible this has contributed to the Yantian congestion.

Inevitably, delays are likely until the situation is resolved.

Following on from our communication of last week, at this stage Shanghai, Qingdao, Dalian and Xiamen are currently operating relatively normally.

While Ningbo, Shenzhen, Tianjin and now Yantian are experiencing delays.

We are now just over a week until the Chinese New Year factory closures get under way, which may mean carriers decide on last minute changes in port rotations to avoid the worst affected ports.

Atlantic Pacific are monitoring the situation closely, should you be concerned about any current shipments, then please contact a member of our team.
