Covid Forces Chinese Flight Cancellations

Air freight from China is currently being impacted by a rise in covid cases, which has led to the cancellation of flights through Nanjing, Xiamen, and Fuzhou airports over the past few days.

Chinese officials suspended operations at the airports at the weekend, due to the rapid rise of the delta variant amongst staff.

The new surge in cases, which is reported to have started in Nanjing, has spread to further provinces and is now impacting 15 Chinese cities.

Today, 3 suspected covid cases were also reported at Shanghai airport, with the affected staff moved to quarantine.

As a result, air freight availability from China is currently extremely tight , which will inevitably lead to some disruption and price increases.

Our Asian trade team are monitoring the situation closely. Should you require further information, or be concerned about current orders, then please do not hesitate to contact your local representative.

As ever, Atlantic Pacific continue to work diligently to mitigate supply chain disruption during these extremely difficult times. Should you require further information on the above, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
