Customs CDS Goes Live This Weekend

 

The CDS platform replaces CHIEF for import declarations from this weekend, 1st October 2022.

Its is critical that importers are prepared for this important transition. If you have left registering for CDS until now, then you may already be likely to face delays in your products being cleared through customs from next week.

The most important items that you need to do in preparation are shown in the below checklist.

Importers Prep-list

Importers MUST register for CDS.

Importers with Deferment facilities MUST set up a new direct debit for their deferment accounts to work with CDS.

Importers must arrange a new standing authority for broker(s) to use their Duty Deferment Accounts in CDS.
