Driving Ahead For Breast Cancer
Atlantic Pacific participated in the ONE (Ocean Network Express) golf day on Thursday 27th October to help support and raise awareness of breast cancer.
As well as entering our own team, Atlantic Pacific also sponsored a number of holes and auction prizes at the event, which was held at Stockbrook Manor Golf Course in Billericay, Essex.
ONE have partnered with BCRF (Breast Cancer Research Foundation) and the golf day is part of an ongoing program to help raise funds for this worthy cause.
With October being ‘Breast Cancer Awareness Month’, Atlantic Pacific Director – Chrissy Nichols – has been actively supporting the cause. This includes our own ‘Group’ event today, which we will bring more of next week.
One in seven women in the UK will develop breast cancer in their lifetime and every year, about 55,000 women are diagnosed with the disease in the UK. The cancer is more common in women who are aged 50 and over, but can affect men too.
While our golfing team didn’t exactly challenge for honours, our very own ‘Unity In Community’ ambassador – former footballer and sports presenter Tony Cottee – donated a round of golf with himself as one of the auction prizes.
