Atlantic Pacific Group Donate to The Lady McAdden Breast Cancer Trust
On Tuesday 1st November Atlantic Pacific Director and Unity In Community Executive Chairwoman – Chrissy Nichols – presented a cheque for £1000 to the Lady McAdden Breast Cancer Charity.
The funds had been raised by staff members throughout the Atlantic Pacific Group during our ‘Wear Pink for Breast Cancer’ day on Friday.
Pink cupcakes were distributed around the offices, as our warm-hearted teams donned their pink outfits to help raise awareness of this worthy cause. However, the pink uniforms were not just limited to our facilities; team members that were working remotely joined in too, as did one or two family pets.
Our event was arranged in conjunction with October being ‘Breast Cancer Awareness Month’. One in seven women in the UK will develop the disease in their lifetime and every year, about 55,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK.
The Lady McAdden Charity provides breast advice, awareness and education, and pride themselves on being the only breast cancer charity in the UK to currently offer one-to-one support with a nurse for breast awareness appointments, both remotely and face to face. www.ladymcadden.org.
Chrissy was delighted with how well the team got right behind the day, with some donating old bras and many making donations for the cupcakes, and she was thrilled to present the cheque to Claire Hickey – Engagement Manager for Lady McAdden, on Tuesday.
