Ho Chi Minh Disruption Expected Due To Lockdown
Vietnam’s largest city and commercial hub – Ho Chi Minh City – has been ordered into lockdown, following the country’s most serious Covid-19 outbreak so far.
From the early hours of Friday, residents are required to stay at home for two weeks, following the recording of 8,000 cases in the city during this virus wave.
Trucking and port operations are expected to be heavily disrupted and communication is likely to be slow. Many of the cities businesses have set up for staff to work from home but are already being impacted by slow internet connection speeds.
Covid tests have been introduced for any drivers passing in and out of the province, so trucking delays can be expected throughout the country.
