Independence Day US Office Closure

Atlantic Pacific’s Chicago office will be honouring the Independence Day holiday in the United States and will be closed for two days this week.

Thursday 4th July – Closed from 1pm
Friday 5th July – Closed all day

What is Independence Day?

In Philadelphia, a declaration of independence was drafted in June 1776 to establish the United States of America and to cut ties with Great Britain. Philadelphia was the political capital at the time – not Washington.

The document was written and tweaked during the month of June, until the final version was finished and signed on 4th July 1776, when the colonies declared themselves independent from the British Empire.

Every year, millions of Americans celebrate Independence Day, which is marked by parades, concerts and food-filled celebrations with friends and family, along with the traditional spectacular firework displays.

Colloquially known as the Fourth of July, the day is marked by a Federal Holiday, with businesses, public buildings, banks and schools being closed, so that everybody can join in with the festivities.
