Introducing Our Partnership with Royal Museums Greenwich

February 06, 2026

In 2026, Atlantic Pacific Group marks its 25th anniversary as an independent logistics group operating at the heart of global trade. To reflect that milestone, we are proud to become corporate partners of Royal Museums Greenwich, an institution that sits at the centre of how the world came to understand time, navigation and global connection.

Royal Museums Greenwich tells the story of how trade moved from uncertainty to system. From the establishment of Greenwich Mean Time to the resolution of the longitude problem, the work done at Greenwich underpins the ability of ships, ports and merchants to operate across distance with confidence. These were not abstract scientific achievements. They were practical solutions to real commercial problems.

Modern logistics still depends on the same foundations. Global trade works because shared standards exist: common time, agreed routes, predictable processes and trusted systems. While technology has transformed how goods move, the underlying principles have changed remarkably little. Reliability still matters more than speed.

Precision still comes before scale. Visibility still underpins coordination. Over the coming year, Atlantic Pacific Group will publish a weekly series exploring these foundations of global trade. Drawing on the collections and stories connected to Royal Museums Greenwich, we will look at how historic challenges in navigation, discovery, shipping and conflict shaped the systems that modern logistics relies on today.

This is not a history lesson for its own sake. It is an exploration of continuity. Many of the issues faced by eighteenth- and nineteenth-century maritime trade, uncertainty, risk, coordination across distance are recognisable to anyone working in logistics today. The tools have changed, but the problems are familiar.

As a logistics group that has grown over 25 years by focusing on service, reliability and long-term relationships, we believe there is value in understanding where these systems came from. History reminds us that trade does not scale through innovation alone, but through discipline, standardisation and trust.

Each week, starting from next Friday February 13th, we will focus on a single theme from time and navigation, to discovery, containerisation, conflict and resilience and reflect on why it still matters to modern global trade. We hope this series provides insight, perspective and the occasional moment of recognition for those who work every day to keep goods moving.

This partnership with Royal Museums Greenwich gives us the opportunity to step back from the immediacy of daily operations and reflect on the deeper systems that make global trade possible. We look forward to sharing that journey over the year ahead.
