Iran/Israel Conflict Impacts Airfreight Rates & Services

Following Iran’s missile attack on Israel at the weekend, air cargo services to and from the region, and the whole of Asia, have  immediately been impacted.

Some flights and services were cancelled in and out of the Middle East and many Far East services have had to be rerouted to avoid the danger area, leading to payload issues, increased fuel costs and space issues. We understand that some airlines are not accepting new cargo bookings on certain routes until further notice.

With capacity being stretched already, we are seeing freight rates on many services starting to spiral upwards and this could continue for the coming days, or perhaps until the Iran/Israel situation improves.

The situation has not been helped by the flooding of Dubai Airport, which is a major gateway for Asia/Europe traffic. A storm in the United Arab Emirates brought the equivalent of 18 months of rain Tuesday, which has led to the temporary suspension of incoming flights.

Our team are monitoring the situation closely. For further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
