Julie Curran Appointed Lady Chairman of The London Freight Club
Atlantic Pacific is delighted to announce that it’s very own Julie Curran has been appointed Lady Chairman of The London Freight Club (LFC) for 2026/2027.
Julie, our Senior Manager of Corporate Affairs, becomes only the second woman in the Club’s 73-year history to achieve this prestigious accolade, following Atlantic Pacific director Christine Nichols, who made history as the Club’s first Lady Chairman in 2023.
Established in 1953, The London Freight Club is a long-standing and highly respected institution within the shipping and freight industry. It provides a valuable forum for networking and professional collaboration, while also raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for charitable causes over the years.
Julie expressed her gratitude to the LFC Committee for the confidence they have placed in her. Her formal presentation with the Chain of Office will take place at the Club’s luncheon on 11 February, where Brian Moore will appear as guest speaker.
Her appointment comes at a particularly significant time, coinciding with several major milestones: Julie’s 40th year in the freight and logistics industry, the 20th anniversary of her employment with us, and also Atlantic Pacific’s 25th year in business.
As Lady Chairman, Julie is keen to welcome new members to the Club and to encourage greater female participation, helping more women engage with and benefit from the strong professional network and camaraderie that the LFC offers.
Commenting on her appointment, Julie said:
“I would like to thank Christine and Ashley Nichols of Atlantic Pacific Global Logistics, who have both previously served as Chairs of the Club. Christine’s leadership in particular helped pave the way, setting such a strong example. I’m honoured to take on this role and very much look forward to the year ahead.”
