Logistics Disruption Due To Storm Ciaran

Storm Ciaran has made landfall in the UK, bringing with it widespread travel chaos, cancellations, and delays, which are expected to disrupt logistics for the next few days.

The Met Office has issued amber “danger to life” warnings, the second-highest level of alert, throughout England and Wales as heavy rain and high winds started arriving last night.

Major ports have been closed overnight and the Port of Felixstowe is not planned to open until Friday, while London Gateway and Southampton may run intermittent operations during the day dependent on conditions. This will undoubtedly impact transport that has been planned for the next 2-3 days.

Some flights have already been grounded, and we are likely to see more during the day, while cancellations have also impacted many rail and ferry services.

The Atlantic Pacific team are closely monitoring the situation, which is likely to disrupt our services for the next day or two. If you are concerned about urgent shipments then please do not hesitate to contact one of our team.
