Rail Strikes To Disrupt Container Transport

As things stand, rail workers within the RMT Union are set to strike on three days this month, which will likely have an impact on UK container transport.

Industrial action is currently planned on the 21st, 23rd and 25th June, and while only 10-12% of UK transport moves by rail, the lack of train movement may add additional strains to road capacity.

At this point in time, it is impossible to say for sure what services will be operating and to what schedule. However, for longer transport journeys that are required close to these dates, we suggest customers discuss pre-positioning options with us as a precautionary measure.

The Atlantic Pacific team will be monitoring the situation as it develops. If you are concerned about collections or deliveries around this time, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
