Truck Driver Strike In Spain

Truck Driver Strike In Spain

Truck drivers throughout Spain have been on strike since Monday, protesting against increasing fuel rates and poor working conditions.

The conflict in Ukraine, and subsequent sanctions on Russia, appear to have been the final straw for small and medium sized Spanish truckers, who have instigated this nationwide strike.

Transport services in Spain have been impacted and some traffic routes in and out of major cities and ports have been blocked.  There is no obvious end in sight to what has been described as an ‘indefinite’ strike.

Of further concern, is the expectation that truck drivers in both Italy and France are due to take similar action in the next few days.

As ever, Atlantic Pacific  are monitoring the situation closely. Should you require further information, then please do not hesitate to contact one of the team.
