USA Logistics – Brighter Times Ahead
Since the outbreak of Covid in 2020, the USA logistics market has been a nightmare for importers, exporters, retailers, forwarders and most people involved.
The country’s supply chains had almost come to a standstill, being heavily impacted by rising costs, vessel delays, port congestion, rail congestion, equipment issues, driver shortages, warehouse congestion, inflated demurrage costs, chassis issues, to name but a few.
However, there seems to be some real optimism of late as stabilising rates, President Biden’s no-strike promise, and increased shipping capacity look set to help supply chain recovery.
President Biden has promised no industrial strike action from ports, following his meeting with the shipping unions this month, as he stated that he will not allow strikes to cause any further blockage to US supply chains.
The proposed removal of US tariffs on some Chinese products is also expected to act as a stimulus to the market.
