Yantian Port Closed For Exports

Yantian Port Closed For Exports

Due to major congestion issues, the Port of Yantian will not be receiving export containers for 2 days, which will likely impact the UK and Ireland’s imports from the region.

From: 22:00 HK time today (15:00 London/Dublin time)

Until: 23:59 HK time on May 27th (16:59 London/Dublin time)

Upon resuming, export containers must be delivered to the terminal no earlier than 4 days before the vessel’s departure. (This rule will be reviewed 3rd June).

The above is likely to create further disruption to Asian import services and alternative routings may need to be considered, such as Hong Kong.

At this stage, the port is expected to remain open for import cargo (exports from the UK & Ireland).

While port congestion has been an ongoing issue, which is the official reason for the export closure, Port of Yantian workers have reportedly been impacted by Covid cases over recent days too.

We are looking into the impact of the above on any current shipments and will contact customers, if affected, shortly. If you would like further information, then please do not hesitate to contact a member of our team.
